My dear dudes,
This is the second interview of my interview series, where I interview bloggers blogging about Early Retirement, Personal Finances, and related topics.
This time, I bring you Brian from www.takeyoursuccess.com.
Q1 – Who is Brian?
A: I’m a 24-year-old entrepreneur and author who founded TakeYourSuccess.com and SelfPublishingX.com.
The three books I’ve written (The Golden Resume, Freedom Money, and How To College) are all Amazon bestsellers.
Q2 – Why and when did you start your blog?
A: TakeYourSuccess.com began in my college bedroom a little over two years ago.
I started it because I wanted to share what I’ve learned with other people to help them become successful. And I wanted to do it in a relatable way, because not many people my age were blogging in this space.
Q3 – What is your blog all about?
A: My blog is all about success. I share specific strategies and tactics to for people to become more successful in their career and finances, but I also touch on social life, health, and personal life tactics to become the best version of you.
I truly believe that anyone can become successful, regardless of background or their past, if they follow the right strategy and work hard enough. So I provide the strategies and try to motivate my audience to put in the work.
My favorite days are when I get social media messages, emails, or book reviews, where someone shares how I motivated them to make real positive change in their life. That’s the BEST!
Q4 – What are your favourite blogs?
A: To be honest, I’m so busy publishing my own content right now that I don’t spend much time reading other blogs. But I’ll give you my favorite personal finance blog: financial samurai.com.
Q5 – What is your vision about money?
A: Like my book title Freedom Money suggests, my vision about money is that it is a tool for freedom. Now this freedom is different for each individual.
But at the end of the day, when you reach financial freedom, then your life can take on a whole new direction. Or it stays the same, but you don’t ever have to worry about financial stress again.
And I believe freedom is priceless.
Q6 – What do you think you’re good at, when it comes to money?
A: My strong suit is investing, where I have a mixed attack of conservative index funds and then big bets in the hope that I hit some home runs.
These index funds return 7-10% each year, on average, so I have an automated system that takes money out of my checking account each month and into these index funds.
And because of this solid foundation in reliable index funds, I’m able to take big calculated risks in other investments. Many of these big bets have hit. For example, I’ve made a significant chunk of money just over the past few years investing in Tesla and Bitcoin.
Q7 – What are your goals for your blog and your personal life, for 2017?
A: 2017 is the year of video content for the Take Your Success brand. I made it a goal to connect with my audience by publishing one video a week. Though I’m still blogging three times a week, I enjoy doing videos because my audience gets to see my face and hear my voice—meaning a better connection than just reading my writing.
And the rest of my 2017 goals are laid out here: http://www.takeyoursuccess.com
Thank you for the interview Brian. I wish you all the best.
